Festin du Feu - Jahi - 06-20-2022

Feast of Fire
As the crowd begins to grow, the red queen taps a sterling knife to the edge of her crystal goblet, a beckoning decree for silence.  The room obeys and she stands in all of her imposing beauty.  Her throat clears, her voice a commanding breath that dominates the room.

"Allow me to extend my sincerest thanks to those of you who have accepted this invitation to the Caltero Chateau.  I do hope that each of you enjoys your night.  Eat, drink.  Let us properly celebrate our victory over the heathens in Vufrien."  She raises her glass.  "And let us toast to general Theodread, the new warden of Dunmeath!"

The crowd claps and the queen drinks daintily from her cup before sitting at the head of the room, her hawk-like stare observing the festivities as they unfold.

Welcome to Caltero Chateau, the vacation estate of queen Émilienne located in the heart of Shanton.  Weeks of careful preparations have finally bore their fruit.  Merriment and wine can be found flowing profusely from every corner of the elaborately decorated ball-room.  The tantalizing aroma of pheasant and freshly roasted pork teases the senses.  Warm candle-light outlines crystal trays bearing the queens favourite pastries.  Cheering chants and political whispers mingle with the bards lute and the singers beckoning song.  The queen herself oversees these festivities with a guarded gaze, eager gaze.  She is not alone, however, as countless faces flood the Chateau for this slim chance to gain the queens favour.  You may request a specific NPC interaction, no NPC or a random NPC.  NPC's are first come first serve, however, all threads are considered open! Should someone claim before you, you may invade their thread in an attempt to steal them!  Keep in mind that how you interact with them may change the course of the evening...  Among the NPC's are:

Marianne Tremblay - vampire
Noblewoman.  The seductive black widow.  Dangerous as she is charming, witty as she is beautiful.  Marianne Tremblay is a graceful woman who quickly gained favour with the nobles of Shanton after her transformation.  Marianne makes no effort to hide her openly flirtatious behaviour even from the jealous eye of her adoring husband, Dominique.

During the feast, lady Marianne can be seen flirting with any young mortal man that enters Caltero Chateau.

Years ago there were rumours that the Tremblay's lure mortals into their bed never to be seen again... be on your guard.

Dominique Tremblay - vampire
Nobleman.  Dominique Tremblay was reborn into a large family that had once lost their favour with the Kaplan clan.  It wasn't until his marriage to Marianne that Dominique began to redeem his family name and earn his place in the red queens court.

Many describe the ambitious Tremblay as quiet, brooding and dangerous.  What they fail to tell you is that he is violently jealous and savagely possessive over his lovely bride.

During the feast, lord Dominique can only be found in the farthest spare guest-room on the west wing.

Claude Donnet - vampire
Nobleman.  A scornful man, a scheming heart that aches for more than its fair lot.  A being who dreams of castles and royalty, to be drowned in a sea of gold and jewels.  He is a detestable man, one whose merciless nature earns him favour with the red queen.  Claude Donnet resides in the farmlands of Anderstel where he nurtures the finest crop of Crue Effros.

When Claude is not plotting his political victory, he can be found hunting in the woods of his home.  Some say his prey doesn't run on four legs, though...

During the feast, Claude can be found near the wine casks, eager to pour any thirsty mortal a glass.

There were rumours that during the last feast, any mortal served a drink by Claude wound up missing...  they're just rumours though, right?

Barthélemy Pélissier - mortal
Bard.  The golden canary, a flamboyant attention seeker whose voice harbours the same captive lull as the fabled siren's song.  He is one of many famous bards in the lands of Crue Effros that had - of late - retired his lute.  Only by summons of the queen does he pluck it again with tales of her decisive victory over the land of Dunmeath.

Barthélemy is the typical picture of a bard.  Charming, flirtatious.  His roving stare admires both the gentle allure of a maiden's hips and the broad curve of a mans back.

During the feast, Barthélemy can be found singing on centre stage.  Perhaps a pretty face could lure him away...

Cédric Belyea - mortal
Queen's Guard.  Cédric Belyae always found it strange that many of the queens' guards prefered night duty.  It was even more shocking that she'd specifically requested his prowess to keep her guests safe during the feast.  While uncertain about what - or who - could be bold enough to plot the queen's death, he is ever watchful.

When it comes to Shanton, there are none who know it better than the ex-criminal, Cédric.  There aren't many that know about his past so find it a mystery how he wound up becoming one of the renowned queen's guard.

During the feast, Cédric can be found standing watch at the entrance of the Chateau.

Francine Gigot - mortal
Serving girl.  When it comes to paupers, there are perhaps none more destitute than the servant girls.  They wander this event serving their lords drinks and the ladies dainty little pastries.  None of them questions why some of the wine holds a more metallic scent or why those that drink it refuse the offering of pig and lamb.

Francine Gigot had always wanted to pull her family out of the alleys of Shanton.  She craved a better life so when an opportunity arose, she chose to become an informant for anyone with the coin to spare.

During the feast, Francine can be found wandering the floor listening for prime whispers and serving wine to the guests.

Be careful what you say lest it's sold to the wrong ears...
Non-NPC

Theodred Lumen - vampire
Warden.  Watchful gaze, the harrowing hawk who is wholly wed to his duties to the queen and to all of Crue Effros.  He has been newly appointed as the warden of Dunmeath, a responsibility given to him by the red queen herself.

During the feast, Theodred can be found on the ballroom floor.

Events concerning Theodred are currently unknown.  Approach him with caution, lest he approaches you.
