Fury erupted from the beast as the arrow found its mark, but what remained of her gaze landed on the boy. With a burst of surprising speed she was on him, ripping him from the tree limbs and thrashing him down into the ground. Blood quickly pulled around him. The flame haired woman with them took off, Hel beside her, screaming in hopes of distracting the beast from her target. The woman beside her slashed a blade into the beast’s other eye, successfully blinding her. Helayne pulled a shortsword from her hip, raising the blade over her head she slashed against the beast’s sides, opening a deep gash into her shoulder.

His head swam as it fought for the clarity a body denied him, an apparent refusal for limbs to act as he desired and regain what was lost. Instead an arm would brace to temporarily hoist himself up. A blear of motion from either side but rather than the sound of rising voices all one heard was ringing. Confusion as to what transpired before him in those moments. Yet it was as if ingrained training acted on its own as fingers fished for the blade latched upon tattered limb, a knife loosed from its bindings before an arm would jerk. Driving that length of steel into the underside of her great jaw, puncturing soft flesh just before that scaled crown jerked out of reach. Escaping not only his own blade but the sparking agony of having her other orb stolen.

Her distraction worked, perhaps too well as that blind aggression turned from the boy as his knife jabbed through the tender underside of her jaw. She snarled, turning tooth and nail against the flame maven before she could hope to escape. The gouge of teeth tearing through the sinew of her arm wrung a cry from her lips, her balance lost as the shove of that taloned foot raked across her opposite shoulder. She fell to the ground, hard, knocking the air from her lungs as she did so. Her eyes squeezed shut against the anguish, her good hand bringing the searing warmth of her flame to her own sundered flesh. She had to stop the bleeding, her only rational thought as already the gore pooled around her side, seeping into the churning snow. Another sound, a mix between a snarl and a scream coiled from her mouth as her burning palm seared to temporarily close the wound.

Steadily a world became clearer yet it came with too much noise. Far too much transpiring for a hazed mind to grasp in full even as pale gaze fought to chase after each motion. Clambering for understanding of what had just happened within that agonizing blitz. Only to truly register that the scorching heat of the beast’s breath no longer lay upon him, those deathly jaws withdrawn as attentions set upon another. And yet Leslie could find no reprieve from even the faintest realizations for no matter a body’s efforts to blind him from agony’s grasps that rush of fearful adrenaline had begun to wane.

A once dull ache now singing out in harshened symphony, nerves alight with even the slightest shift of that shattered limb. Initial wave immediately bringing stuttered breath to hitch in silent scream. The hammering beat of his heart echoing in his ears as it thrummed upon each mark of tattered flesh. “Xsiol,” the gratings of a curse all that escapes before any words swiftly die in his throat. Masked sights blearing beneath stinging tears as fingers sought to press in vain hopes of halting gushing ichor.

Then came that piercing roar, a snarl, the resonating call of the very draconic wonder hunted. No matter the costs they needed to silence her. Teeth grated against one another as a jaw clenched. He needed to do something and while a bow lay out of reach the slush which melted beneath the scaled beauty’s steps did not. Another surge of essence, one faltering as pain sought to claim all focus, only to gather in a slurry. Wavering appearances of a tendril that swiftly sought to bury itself deep within those scaled features, seeking out any opening upon that great skull that it could find.

Hel fought back her horror as the beast lashed out at, sinking her long fangs into his shoulder, his lower leg appearing shattered. The distraction attempt worked seemingly too well, as she turned and lashed for the other woman. Her teeth closed around her forearm, claws ripping into her shoulder. The man responded first, water shooting up into the smoke of her nostrils, choking back her flames and air for a moment. Before the dragon had time to react again, Helayne drew back her hands as if holding her bow, her feeble attempts at magic charging her aim into a brilliant bolt of electricity. Her hands released, watching and hoping to catch the water filling her lungs and send a horrifying current of power through her.

There is no hiding the way that great beast spasms the moment electricity connects with water and brings all action to temporary halt. No snarling call nor huff of annoyance upon flame sparked breath. Nothing but the silence as her features seemed to blank as muscles seized, betraying the mistress which commanded them. Yet nearly as soon as it coursed through that royal visage it would fade. A sense of herself regained in the harshness of a snarl, blood trickling from each injury and dripping from nostrils which billowed smoke anew. Though even with the absence of her piercing gaze it is still as if her searing judgment is upon them. With his own breath faltering Leslie hopes to halt her motion before it can begin, the ground shifting beneath taloned feet as the earth itself hoped to snare each in it's grasps with the harsh puncture of stone.

The shock must have set in, that horrible feeling of disconnection that froze her from action. Those around her continued to move, but it all seemed a blur, a wretched pit of slow motion as she herself seemed caught in sludge. It was a diffusion she was wholly unaccustomed to. She was not one to be caught, but she was also not usually one to fight a damned dragon either. As that perilous tooth and claw set upon her once more, she was unwilling to remain any longer. As her bodice hit the earth, she would flee, blending into the shade of the tree and dispersing from the fight with the simple hope that her wounds could still be licked. Preferably by someone attractive, she might add.

Of late it seemed as if he were drawn and quartered, tethered by the wrists and ankles to be drug in one direction and then the other.  To and fro, here and there.  From one piss pot to the next - Kaisermont back to Shanton.  Now, Naga wandered the wilds on foot, the aching of his heels minuscule to the exciting possibilities of finally seeing a dragon.  It was rumoured that the beast had terrorized Anderstel and the queen was willing to pay a pretty penny for its head. Pennies that, he admitted, would look rather nice in his dwindling coffers. When the commotion began he was away from it then steadily closing the distance until he could see the combatants tangling with the wild serpent.  A lovely woman with red hair boasting daggers, one with white hair and a bow, and a man with incredibly pale features that were outlandish here. The fight progressed, the beast lashing out, striking the fighters and Naga quickly jumped in as the red-headed woman began to make her escape.  Dual daggers unsheathed with vampiric speed, his feet following suit as he took advantage of the dragon's restrained state to dig them into the beast's ankles.  Naga  100/100 HP 70/70 SP No wounds 8.  Stabs her in the ankie. Whispers, they are hard to miss aren’t they? When burdens carry themselves on the wind through the wilds the creature calls a home. Lost, some might say, to the times though it is more like the sway of society is absent for there is a particular tick that has placed itself upon a mind. Does it really matter? Of course it doesn’t… for what is a man does not listen to such reasonings. All that matters is the own course of action he choses to take. Drifting like a current brought on by a flood through the trees towards this new calling of something c h a o t i c.

Crackles of lightning filling the senses of the beast whose limbs carry it across the terrain. The huff and cry of a lesser thing proved to be weakened by the onslaught of a hunter. Perfect prey for a creature who is more than capable than feasting upon scraps. Pinpoint pupils flicker from one scent form to the next. Counting, calculating where focus was… who was the weakest and yet found attention forcefully pulled towards what was a better prize than the soft skin of a mortal.

Paws skid upon the earth, shaped themselves as toes splayed out over the shifted earth unknowingly brought on by Leslie as the frame of the beast twisted. Spine contorted as Sergei’s heavy crown angled itself in hope to tear at the throat of the beast. Because why would a man such as he not go for a blow that would leave most struggling?

Briefly eyes flickered to all else in the fray though there came a passing realization that a mind still fogged behind flashes of pain. The earth painted red not only beneath him but the fiery haired woman who had rushed with blades drawn. One who - in a blink - seemed to vanish entirely bringing a sense of panic to fill his chest. Had she been eaten? There was no other thought that could fill his mind on just how she seemed to disappear without a trace. Nothing but that crimson ichor left to stain the grounds where she’d been thrown. The same fate would not be allowed to find him.

Pained hiss pressed through teeth as battered frame pulled just far enough to grip the bow previously thrown from reach. He knew a grip to be unsteady and yet there was no way he was going to be getting over to the creature any time soon. Pressing a spine firmly against the tree behind him for a touch of support an arrow was loosed. Its barbed tip burrowing deeply into the side of the great beast’s neck.
