RE: Place To Call Home - Morana - 09-06-2022

Morana observes Vali from the stable entrance. He truly is more beast than man with how he inspected everything. She didn't blame him; she had done the same with the house before purchasing it. If she had a partner or child, perhaps she would be observing the world in a much different manner. But, she had neither, and both seemed out of reach. No matter. They would hold her down anyway.

At Vali's compliments to the mare, she chuckles. "I shall inquire with the stable master. I'm sure Codrin would break out if he felt trapped. Much like his friend."

She exits the stable, and finds the man. Their discussion is light with some laughter mixed in. Anyone overhearing would think they're holding a normal discussion. And, they would be wrong. In exchange for Codrin having the best service, food and more free time than any other clients, Morana agreed to give the stable master more arsenic. It wasn't her business on why he needed it, but the recent deaths of certain equine owners was curious to read.

"Pleasure doing business with you." She shakes the man's hand. "One more question… if a mare was to go into heat and Codrin impregnated her, what would happen?" It wouldn't do to be saddled with extra fees.

He continued his investigation, watching and listening, inspecting curious things. As she spoke of talking to the stable guy, Vali nodded and invited himself into the tack room. He looked through some of it, a brief once over, before hurrying back to Morana to catch the ass end of their conversation. She asks the stable guy what would happen if Codrin had reproduced, and the beastman’s eyes lit up. He could actually be of service in this! Before the man could answer, Vali cleared his throat.
"Can…help,"
He looked to Morana briefly for approval, but didn’t wait long to back up his statement. A large hand patted his chest.
"Train horses, can help sell,"
He nodded, looking between the two.
"Codrin can help too,"
He often used the shire as a training tool of sorts, allowing the young or green horses communicate with Codrin and see that no harm is to come of anything. This was his forte, his one thing he was truly good at. He hoped they would understand.
