morning drinker - Inan - 06-20-2022

To some it was a tad bit early to be hitting the taverns. It was not quite noontime yet he found himself occupying a seat at the bar. The ale was still warm this early in the day but it would do the job. On his days off he was free to spend his time however he pleased and if that was here then no one was going to say anything that would make him change his mind. There were few patrons at this time of day as was to be expected, a few he had seen a time or two before. He did not make it a habit to come here that often but it was frequent enough that he could pick out a few of the regulars if need be. It was a way to pass the time though coming here would be much more enjoyable if the younger barmaids were actively serving though their hours were worked mostly in the evenings where most of their business came in. All he had to oggle this time of day was an old crone who eyed him with scrutiny, wary of him around her servers when he came around when they worked. She was obviously not his biggest fan for often distracting the poor girls from their work. He only had a charming smile to give her in response to all that.

After several more moments, a rough sigh pulled from his lips. He could stay here longer but there was clearly not much going on. Sliding a coin onto the counter, he stood and moved to the exit. Stepping out into the brightness of the day, a string of curses left him as he shielded his eyes as they adjusted. He was not entirely unhappy with his life. Far from it really. But there were times when he found himself growing restless, longing for excitement and change to ripple through the city. It happened on occasion if only because of the lycanthropy that seemed to grip many of the citizens here.

Rubbing at his chest for just a moment, he turned to swagger down the street, thoughts of finding some lunch on his mind for the moment. Might as well get something in his stomach to offset the effects of the alcohol making his head spin lightly.

The capitol of Vuf had not left her disappointed thus far, though she wouldn’t necessarily call herself a country bumpkin, she was certainly more accustomed to the road and smaller vistas than this. Though there was something about this wild and rugged city that charmed her just the same. Businesses were already in full swing, and while she had her own trinkets and odds and ends to peddle, she had deigned to take the day off. Her pockets were already full enough for her liking, any more and she feared the thieves may pay her mind.

A soft hum formed upon her lips as she adjusted the broad rim of her hat, pushing it back to better take in her surroundings. The smells from taverns had drew her attention, reminding her that breakfast has been quite sometime ago. It was a thought easily shoved aside in her excitement to see the sights of the wolven kingdom, but now pursued as her attention fell upon the frame of another emerging from one of the various buildings. Directions, she would merely ask for directions, perhaps even a suggestion of his own.

”Fine day out, isn’t it?” she called over the slight of distance she sought to close between them. Her steps even, measured, as a quiet smile tread her lips. Large brim of her hat shielding the delicate porcelain of her skin left bare by the silks of her attire from the sun. ”Mind if I join you?” breathy vocals were now a near purr, the clamor of her various chains and decoration bouncing along with the sashay of her hips with each foot fall. “I’m afraid I’m a bit lost.”

Wondering what he wanted to eat, he did not seem to notice anyone's attention on him right away. Perhaps it was the alcohol dulling his senses or his stomach distracting him. It did not take him long to glance over though at the greeting that was called out about the day. Her eyes were on him, leaving him with no doubt that she was talking to him and he allowed a charming smile to touch his features as he let his eyes roam over her. "Fine indeed." His words were in agreement though he was not necessarily talking about the state of the day. The innuendo was not heavily implied though. He did not want to come off as a complete creep right off the bat anyways.

Watching her approach, he let himself appreciate the moment from her measured steps to her figure and what he could see of her features beneath the hat she wore. A question was posed and he might have let out a grin of satisfaction if it wouldn't come off as creepy. "But of course, it would be my honor." Offering a slight bow, he straightened after a moment and offered his arm to her to escort her. He didn't have any plans in mind but he could come up with something on the fly.

"The name's Inan by the way. I was just going to grab something to eat if you're hungry?" He could treat her to a bit of lunch and see if he could work his skills. She seemed pretty enough and, judging by her words, she wasn't from around here. A newcomer then. That meant she was ignorant to who he was and any sort of notoriety he held with some of the residents around these parts. "Where is it you were trying to go? I can help you after we grab some food."

He smelled faintly of drink, though his features didn't appear to be flushed with the intoxication in the least. Perhaps simply an early indulgence to chase away the boredom of a morning off and free from whatever toils he acted in. Or perhaps that like she, he was simply a wanderer drifting through and this was a time of luxury. A past time that she should partake in as well, maybe. After all, the mixes of lycans were often praised for their strength and variety of differences. Sanctuary was bland as far as options were considered - a luxury and safe haven for many who sought refuge and a quiet life, but she was not among them. Always looking for something new, something fresh and exciting.

When he offered a bow, she would return with a delicate curtsy, her smile only growing as she straightened. Her hand rose, brushing the few stray strands of dark hair from her brow that had fallen over her bright emerald eyes. Her arm looped easily through his, at his offer. "What good fortune I have." A gentle tease left her, her head tilting to the side faintly to peer up at him from under the eaves of her protective, flourished hat.

"A pleasure it is to meet you, Inan." The words were accompanied by a slight wink, one that may easily be missed as she turned her attention forward. "Call me Eva, and food sounds delightful." Her dark nails would gently shift in their grip, sliding down his forearm slightly before ghosting back to her grip at the bend of his arm, eyes watching their path idly. "I didn't have a destination set in mind," she admitted. "I am free, if you have any suggestions?"
