Combat! Battles and fights are bound to happen and this page is a guideline on how we determine victors and how our events run. You'll also learn how technology plays a role in it and how we keep events fair and fun!
Fight Rules
Cheating: Cheating in a fight will not be tolerated unless it was agreed upon by the contenders. Cheating includes - but is not limited to - editing a post after your opponent has replied, god-modding (pretending your character is a god and cannot take damage or one hits another character), power-playing (taking control of another character or giving them no room to respond to an attack). Timely Replies: You have 72 hours after your opponent responded to post a reply. Failure to do so will result in your forfeit. Realism: While we may be a supernatural site, there are some instances of reality we expect. One such thing is that character's can and will take damage in a fight. Respond accordingly. Technology: Guns are allowed to be used in fights. Summaries: All posts, official or otherwise, in an event or fight must include a summary of your character's health, spirit, offense/defense and any prior damage done. Style: Challenges may be judged traditionally or done using our dice roll system below.
Staff Judging System
Judging: Judging will always be done by three staff members following a point system. Each judge is allowed (and encouraged) to post a short summary of what they thought of the battle. All of this information will be posted by an admin so the contenders can fully see the thought process behind the decision. Occupation: +1 point for warriors/fighters/soldiers/other battle oriented jobs. Clarity: A max of 3 points. 1 indicates that your posts were difficult to read or understand. 2 is a middle ground; there was some confusion but it was generally understandable. 3 means that your posts were easy to read and your attacks were clear. Damage & wounds: A max of 3 points. 1 indicates that your character did not take appropriate actions based on the wounds they recieved in battle. 2 means that your character could've reacted to their wounds better but they were not overly unrealistic. 3 means that your character was very realistic with the amount of damage they took and the reaction to their wounds throughout the fight. Attacks: -2 points for each post that uses more than one offensive strike. An example is stabbing a character's shoulder then going to punch them. Actions such as kicking up stones then charging for a strike would be considered acceptable. Points will be tallied between the judges and whichever point wins the majority vote is what the contender will be awarded. Example: Three judges cast their vote on clarity. Two decide that it deserves one point, one judge decides it deserves three. Since the majority has chosen one, the final result in clarity will be one point. In the event of indecision, the middle ground will always be chosen.
HP & SP
Events are done as fairly as possible for everyone involved. We like to promote and encourage a fun environment when doing events! To keep things fair, we follow a HP (health point) and SP (spirit point) system. What if your character gets close to 0HP? They can attempt to flee or a healer can use a healing spell to restore 20HP to them (regardless of roll unless it is a miss). Healers can only heal one character per post, though, unless they have a spell that states otherwise!
If your character hits 0 SP they will no longer be able to cast any spells. Trying to do so may be particularly lethal so it's generally not recommended. Vampires start with 100 HP and 70 SP. Werewolves start with 120 HP and 30 SP. Mortals start with 70 HP and 50 SP. Depending on how your character uses magic, it will deduct the amount of SP below:
Character Attacks
The strength of your attack will be determined by what we call /roll 1d100 conditions and damage. To do this, you must pop into our discord and type /roll 1d100 into the dice-rolls channel. From there, the number you get will determine the outcome of your attack which will be as follows:
