Magic, passives & weaknesses
【Magic】
Shape Shifting: Ability to shift into a werewolf as well as appear to be a normal wolf. Each form is allowed mutations but must still resemble a wolf physically in their body shape and build.
Nature’s Trance: Harbors a deep connection to nature to enhance their tracking abilities, allowing them to pinpoint another’s whereabouts through concentration on a specific scent or essence.
Earthly Embrace: A strong connection to the earth itself allows them to call upon its very structure. Grants wolves the ability to grow plants on a whim or shape the earth.
Animal Communication: Able to speak with and understand what an animal is saying either through vocalization or telepathy. This ability is able to be used on other werewolves as well as vampires while in either shifted state.
【Passives】
Enhanced Senses: Heightened ability to see, hear, and smell on levels that far surpass what a human is capable of. Due to their heightened senses, they are able to see in the dark as if the entire area was cast in dim light. Among their senses werewolves have a greater capability of sensing impending danger and pinpoint where it may arise from.
Strength: Augmented strength, making them physically stronger than humans, while granting the ability to lift heavy objects with ease. Their werewolf forms are stronger than vampires as well.
Speed: Augmented speed, making them quicker than humans as well as possessing more endurance, allowing them to cover ground swiftly.
Advanced Healing: Their bodies are capable of enduring potentially lethal injuries and mending when given the proper amount of time. However, should a limb be severed they are incapable of regenerating it or reconnecting it. Extreme injury will force them back into their human state.
Disease: With their enhanced bodies the wolves have become immune to most human ailments and diseases. Canine illnesses, however...
Aura Reading: Instinctual developments allow a werewolf to read the auras of those around them and determine another’s race in this way. While they cannot manipulate them via magic, emotions and a state of well-being are among the fluctuations beheld. They may also detect when someone is being untruthful and trying to deceive them.
【Weaknesses】
Silver: Contact with anything made of silver - whether weaponry, jewelry, or even common household items - burns the skin and causes agonizing pain. Any silver left in a wound prevents healing and causes continuous damage until removed.
Wolfsbane: A highly toxic herb. Whether ingested or injected contact with this plant leaves a werewolf weak and in a docile state. If taken before the night of a full moon, the werewolf keeps control of their mind but enters a heavily sedated state despite being forced into their feral form.
Belladonna: A highly toxic herb. Consumption of these flowers induces a near death-like sleep in werewolves leaving them in a severely weakened state. There is an extremely fine line between temporary slumber and overdose when using such plants to combat the frenzy of a curse.
Hecatolite: Moonstone can block the moon’s influence upon a werewolf, disrupting the curse and cycle of transformation. Wearing hecatolite binds a werewolf to their human form until taken off. Once removed, moonstone charms will hold no power over the werewolf - even when replaced - until a full lunar cycle has passed.
Lunar Cycle: Werewolves are bound to the moon phases. Unless preventative measure are taken, they are forced to turn during a Full Moon with a mind fueled by aggression.
Mortality: Just like their human counterparts, werewolves suffer the plague of mortal frailty. Death may be found through blood loss, suffocation, poisoning, drowning, etc; however, they hold resistance to most diseases. Decapitation or extraction of the heart guarantees death for a werewolf.
Magic: Werewolves are susceptible to injury from all manners of magic.
Vampire Bites: Venom within vampire bites leave a werewolf severely weak and drained of their energy. Some may enter a high-like state as the chemicals temporarily alter their brain.
Turning & Cures
Turning into a Werewolf
The onset of lycanthropy is a drawn out and painful experience for those made to endure it. Within the first few days, or hours for those unlucky few, a body rapidly weakens becoming sick and feverish. If no attempts of curing the infection are made they are doomed to turn upon the next full moon.
Infectious Bite: The saliva of a werewolf is stepped in infection, should fangs break skin and allow it to enter the bloodstream a human then bears their curse. If one is not adverse to risk, they may consume a sprig of Belladonna within an hour of being bitten or use an elixir comprised of diluted Wolfsbane to wash out the bite. If neither treatment is successfully applied the human will turn upon the next full moon.
Moon Water: Rain water blessed by moonlight and cradled within a werewolf’s paw print carries the infection of lycanthropy. Should one drink this afflicted water, whether directly or indirectly from a tainted vessel, they are plagued. However, this method leaves no injury to treat. No way to prevent the onset of the curse.
Initial Transformation: A werewolf’s initial turning cannot be blocked by poisons or moonstone. Nothing can be given without risking complications and prolonging the shifting process, however, the overwhelming rush of agony leaves no room for feral aggression.
Their first shift is excruciating as a body forcefully adjusts to sudden changes - bones breaking and reforming - to accommodate a new form. Over many moon cycles the pain becomes more manageable and the werewolf gains enough control to allow for partial shifting.
